It has been said that inflammation is the root of all disease! According to Dr. Brent Bauer of the Mayo Clinic, Inflammation is the latest medical buzzword.
Researchers believe that a chronic, low-grade state of inflammation is linked with most illnesses, including, among others:
- Heart Disease
There are ways to quiet the inflammatory response in the body by eliminating some of the causes. One of the worst offenders on the list of causes for chronic inflammation is Dietary Choices. I do not believe all people can eat the same foods; so, I'm not going to give you a list of right or wrong things to eat. I am, however, going to suggest that eating lots of good, organic fruits and vegetables is a good thing, because they are full of antioxidants that can work to eliminate some of that inflammation!
Other things to consider to calm inflammation in the body is emotional wellness. When we worry, or are under a lot of stress, we stay in the "fight or flight" mode and our body produces too much cortisol (often referred to as the death hormone). Cortisol serves a good purpose when it's not running rampant all the time; but when it is, it is wreaking havoc on your health!
Meditation, Prayer, MODERATE exercise (that's a topic for another day), and calming essential oils can help you calm the stress response in your body and bring down one of the causes of chronic inflammation.
