Empowering Women to Embrace Natural Wellness

Estrogen Dominance and the Thyroid
Most women believe, because they’ve been told, that as we age and estrogen levels naturally decrease in the body and we experience HOT flashes, that increasing estrogen levels with hormone therapy is the answer.  The truth of the matter is, increasing estrogen does work to lessen the severity of hot flashes, but it does nothing about getting to the root cause of things.   And the risks associated with estrogen replacement therapy are many, including:

  • Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
  • Thyroid Disease
  • Autoimmune Diseases
  • Blood clots
  • Strokes…. And much more.
As we age we naturally experience a decrease in thyroid function, as well as a decrease in progesterone production.  This happens while we also have an increase in the amount of estrogen that is stored within our cells and tissues (especially fat).

While estrogen production does decline during menopause, we have a much more severe decline in our progesterone production, which causes us to actually become estrogen dominant.   It’s the balance between estrogen and progesterone that is what we should focus on for healthy thyroid function and overall wellness.

What are some of the causes of estrogen dominance, other than the usual process of aging and this inequality in reduction of these hormones?

1.      Endocrine disruptors in products we use every day that get absorbed into our skin and blood stream, wreaking havoc on our hormones.
2.      Acute stress can totally knock your hormone levels out of whack.
3.      Chronic Stress – scientists are documenting all the time how living under a great deal of stress over a long period of time can have devastating effects on our health and hormones.
4.      Diet – eating foods that are processed and full of preservatives and sugar cause more disease than you can even imagine.  Sugar is like gasoline on a fire, when it comes to cancer.  Something to think about - is it really worth it?

My Story

For decades, I navigated a high-stress world as a court reporter, balancing 80-hour workweeks with being a single mom. The relentless pressure, long hours, and emotional weight took a toll on my body and mind. Chronic stress led to burnout and eventually an autoimmune issue that compelled me to reevaluate everything.

When I left that profession, I realized I needed more than just survival—I needed true healing to regain my vitality. I was determined to manage stress naturally and support my body to reverse years of high-pressure living.

Embracing natural wellness approaches, I turned to essential oils, targeted nutrition, and mindful self-care. Through these simple swaps, I found a way to regain control of my health and energy.

What I discovered on my journey is what I now share with others: We are not meant to live in constant stress and depletion. Healing is possible. Balance is possible.

I’ve walked this path myself, and my passion is helping others find their way to renewed energy, resilience, and well-being.

If you're struggling with the effects of long-term stress, know that hope is within reach—and there are natural, effective solutions to help you feel like yourself again.
