To say this has been a difficult year is kind of a joke. It’s been so bad, in fact, that even the most positive people have found it difficult to maintain a positive outlook on each day as we are experiencing it, much less the future outlook.
Today I would like to encourage you to make a concerted effort to really find something (or many somethings) to be grateful for each and every day. It sounds like a cliché; but in fact, it is one of the most important things we can do to lift our spirits and attract more things in our lives to be grateful for.
Did you know it takes 21 days (minimum) of consistent effort to establish a habit? That doesn’t mean you try your best for 21 days – it means you actually DO something consistently for 21 days without missing. That’s why I created a 28-day Gratitude Reminder (I figured an extra week couldn’t hurt, and sometimes I’m a little slow! LOL). It’s a simple email reminder that comes to me every day to remind me to take five minutes to truly focus on something, anything, that I am grateful for. It can be the same thing every day, something different, or a whole list of things…. Whatever you want. The more things you are grateful for, the more room you are making in your heart to manifest and bring more into your life to be grateful for. It’s like magic! It really does work.
The first thing you will probably notice, when you get into the swing of it, is your attitude will shift to something more positive. You won’t dwell on the negativity around you as much. You will begin to notice more things to be grateful for. As your Gratitude Practice continues, it just gets better and better.
I am extremely thankful and grateful to have lots of beautiful nature and mild weather conditions to be able to get out into nature and soak up all the natural vibrations I can each and every day. I use my “walks” as a time to think about and express gratitude in my heart for all the things that come to my mind to be grateful about. Sometimes it’s just the colors I see around me. Whatever it is, it creates more positive vibrations. Try it, and you’ll see!
