Creativity is Your Gift!
Lots of people claim they are not creative, and I do not believe that is true.  Everyone comes into this world with creative genius, we just don't all manifest it the same way.  Being creative does NOT mean a person has artistic talents or gifts.  Being creative is far more all-encompassing than that!

Some people are creative in their quick wit.  Some are creative in their problem solving.  Some are creative in how they give to others.  Some are creative in actually creating things (whether it's crafts or new technologies - or even a new YOU).

For those who think they are not creative, I want to challenge you to do a little soul-searching.  Ask yourself a few questions, and be honest with yourself.  Here's a few examples:

  • What do I love doing?
  • What am I good at?
  • Is there a particular activity that every time I engage in it, I lose track of time?
The answers to these questions is a huge hint about what your gifts are.  Yes, I said plural, gifts!  You likely have more than one.  So why am I suddenly talking about gifts when the topic is creativity?  Because your creativity often shows itself through your gifts - they are basically one and the same.

I personally believe we are meant to share our gifts and creativity in a way that makes the world a better place.

Now, this is just my opinion, and you certainly don't have to agree with me; but if you are an open-minded person who is willing to explore things you don't agree with - think on this:  Let's say you have the gift of a very quick wit!  I love to listen to quick-witted people come up with things on the fly - it's amazing to me.  When a quick wit is used in a way that does not "give back" to make the world a better place, it now becomes a destructive thing, rather than a creative one.  Many quick-witted people are often sarcastic and demeaning, and it is often directed at someone else, or even themselves.  Self-deprecating humor and wit have no place in the world of creativity, because the very definition of creative is building up - and tearing others (or self) down does not build anything or anyone up.

When you use your creative gifts for good - NOW you are Creating!

I hope that you explore, discover and use your gifts in creative ways to make the world a better place.
