Understanding the deeper systems that influence energy, metabolism, and long-term health

Have you ever caught a whiff of something—a familiar perfume, a hint of fresh-baked cookies, or the salty breeze of the ocean—and suddenly you’re transported back to a memory so vivid it feels like you’re there? That’s the magic of scent. Our sense of smell is directly tied to the part of the brain that stores memories and emotions, which is why fragrance is such a powerful tool—not just for smelling good, but for feeling good, too.
Let’s dive into how you can use scents intentionally—not only to create lasting memories but also to support your mood and energy throughout the day.

Create Your Own Scent Memory Journal

What if you could bottle up your favorite memories and revisit them anytime? With a personal Scent Memory Journal, you can do just that.
Here’s how:
✅ Pick a fragrance for special moments – Whether it’s a new job, a romantic date, a vacation, or a cozy evening at home, choose a specific scent to anchor that moment in your memory. Later, just a quick sniff can bring it all rushing back.
✅ Journal your scent experiences – Keep a notebook where you write down the scent you wore, the date, the occasion, how you felt, and any special memories tied to it.
Bonus tip: Spritz a little of the fragrance on the page or tuck in a scent strip to make the memory come alive when you flip back through.

Use Fragrance to Support Your Energy and Mood Throughout the Day

Scent isn’t just for memories—it’s a powerful tool you can use to shift your energy and emotions. Here’s how to create simple daily rituals with scent:

☀️ Morning: Energize & Uplift

Start your day with bright, citrusy or minty notes like orange, lemon, grapefruit, peppermint, or rosemary. These scents help wake up your mind and clear away any grogginess.
  • Apply a citrus-based all-natural fragrance to your pulse points before you head out the door.
  • Diffuse peppermint or rosemary in your bathroom as you get ready.
  • Mist your workspace or car with an energizing natural fragrance.
💡 Pro tip: Pair this morning scent with a few deep breaths for an extra burst of energy.

🌿 Midday: Refocus & Recharge

When that afternoon slump hits, grab herbal or resinous scents like rosemary, basil, cypress, or frankincense. These help clear mental fog and sharpen your focus.
  • Roll on an all-natural grounding scent before a meeting or creative task.
  • Keep an essential oil roller handy for a midday brain boost.
  • Mist your workspace with an all-natural scent designed to help with mental clarity.
💡 Pro tip: Stretch or move around for 5 minutes while enjoying your scent to reset both your mind and body.

🌸 Afternoon: Soothe Stress & Relax

Feeling overwhelmed or frazzled? Reach for calming scents like lavender, chamomile, bergamot, or sandalwood.
  • Dab a relaxing all-natural fragrance on your wrists or neck.
  • Mist your space with lavender to create a peaceful vibe.
  • Keep a calming roller in your bag for when you’re on the go.
💡 Pro tip: Pause for three slow, deep breaths as you apply your scent for maximum calm.

🌙 Evening: Wind Down & Prepare for Rest

Set the tone for a restful evening with cozy, grounding scents like vanilla, cedarwood, sandalwood, or ylang ylang. These help signal to your body that it’s time to relax and unwind.
  • Mist your pillow or sheets with an all-natural essential oil DIY spray to create a soothing bedtime ritual.
  • Diffuse vanilla or cedarwood as you wind down for the night.
  • Apply your all-natural evening scent after a warm bath to ease into sleep mode.
💡 Pro tip: Pair your nighttime fragrance with quiet music or journaling to deepen your relaxation.

Simple Swaps for a Low-Tox, Beautifully Scented Home

If you’re looking to create a healthier, low-tox home without sacrificing the luxury of scent, here are some easy swaps you can start today:
Trade artificial air fresheners for essential oil diffusers or natural room sprays. Scents like lavender, citrus, or eucalyptus not only smell amazing but help uplift your mood naturally.
Swap synthetic perfumes for plant-based fine fragrances made with essential oils. Apply them to pulse points, your hair, or even your clothes to carry your favorite scents with you longer.
Ditch chemical cleaners and try simple DIY versions with vinegar, baking soda, and a few drops of lemon or tea tree essential oil for a natural antibacterial boost.  Thieves Household Cleaner is a great option!
Upgrade your personal care products to clean beauty alternatives—think natural deodorants, sulfate-free shampoos, and plant-based skincare.
Replace harsh bug sprays with essential oil-based repellents using citronella, peppermint, or eucalyptus—and bonus, plant herbs like basil and rosemary around your home for extra natural protection.

If you're like me and wish to stay away from synthetic fragrances and perfumes, there's a brand new option:  Fine fragrances made from genuine, unadulterated essential oils, and they are launching their pre-sale!  You can get 10% off by using this link on your first order:  Save 10% on Wyld Notes

My Story

For decades, I lived and worked in a high-stress environment as a court reporter, balancing demanding 80-hour workweeks while raising my son as a single mother.

From the outside, I was strong and capable. But internally, the chronic pressure was quietly reshaping my body in ways I didn’t yet understand.

Over time, the effects of prolonged stress began to surface—fatigue, imbalance, and eventually an autoimmune diagnosis that forced me to pause and reconsider everything I thought I knew about health.

What I discovered changed the trajectory of my life.

I began to understand that the body is not fragile or broken. It is adaptive, intelligent, and constantly responding to its environment. Symptoms were not random failures. They were signals—evidence of deeper systems working hard to protect and preserve balance under prolonged strain.

This realization shifted my focus completely.

Instead of chasing symptoms or forcing solutions, I began studying the underlying systems that influence energy, metabolism, brain function, hormones, and long-term vitality. As I supported those systems using natural, sustainable approaches, my body began to restore balance in ways I had not thought possible.

That experience became the foundation of my work.

For more than two decades, I have helped others understand their bodies through this same systems-based lens—helping them move from frustration and confusion to clarity and confidence in their wellness journey.

My work is not about quick fixes or temporary solutions. It is about helping you understand what your body has been communicating, so you can support it in restoring balance naturally and sustainably.

When you understand the deeper patterns, everything begins to make more sense.

And from that place of understanding, true healing becomes possible.
