First things first! I’m going to be giving you recipes that use genuine, authentic, unadulterated essential oils ~ I ONLY recommend Young Living essential oils for this purpose, because most oils in the marketplace are adulterated and “extended” with other ingredients, even if they say 100% pure. So, with that caveat in mind, IF you are using Young Living essential oils and follow the directions, your plants will respond positively. If you choose to use something else in these recipes, just remember – I warned you.

Baby Wipes
Keep your houseplant leaves looking their best with Seedlings® Wipes – gentle enough for babies' bottoms, so it won’t hurt your plants. Use them to wipe away dust and grime from your plant's leaves. Not only will it leave them clean and shiny, but it'll also help your plants better absorb sunlight and nutrients for optimal growth.
Thieves® Household Cleaner
Essential oils are invaluable when it comes to dealing with garden threats. About 85 percent of all plant diseases are rooted in fungi. Fungi poison and kill cells, block stomata (breathing pores), and steal nutrients from the plants. That’s where powerful essential oils can help you with these fungi.
One of the cheapest ways I like to support my plants from fungal growth is by spraying them regularly with Thieves Household Cleaner dilute 30:1 - it's really cheap and effective!
Purification® Essential Oil
Keep the air fresh and free of unwanted odors around your plants with Purification® Essential Oil. Diffuse a few drops near your houseplants to eliminate any stale or musty smells that can arise in indoor spaces. Plus, this blend also helps repel insects that might have their eyes on your green beauties!
Lavender Essential Oil
Want to create a soothing and calming atmosphere for both yourself and your plants? Lavender Essential Oil is the answer! Add a couple of drops to a spray bottle filled with water and lightly mist your houseplants. Tea Tree
Let’s talk Fungi – your plants don’t like it much. Tea tree essential oil not only limits fungal growth, but it also kills existing fungi. Mix a few drops of oil per cup of water in a spray bottle. Spray directly on plants a couple of times a week. Avoid spraying leaves in hot weather or direct sunlight or you might cause burning of the leaves. Tea tree and lavender work well to combat fungus and bacteria issues on houseplants. Add 10 drops Tea tree and 10 drops Lavender to a gallon of water (or make up a 24-oz spray bottle with 2 drops Tea tree and 2 drops Lavender – fill with water) to mist your houseplants.
Plant Fungus Suppressant: In a 1-gallon spray bottle
- 10 drops Tea tree
- 10 drops Lavender
- Fill with water
Shake to mix, then spray on plants to keep fungal growth away
Alternate Fungal Recipe:
Combine all ingredients in a 2-oz glass spray bottle and spray plants in the evening. Don’t overdo it – these are powerful oils
