A Friday Bonus (Because This One Made Me Laugh)

Let me just say this upfront:
I am here for the concept of the new food pyramid.
Truly.

It’s smarter. More modern. Very “science-y.”

Gold star. ⭐️

But then I actually try to use it...
And suddenly I’m standing in my kitchen thinking:

“Okay… wait… kilograms… grams… multiply… divide…
WHY DOES DINNER FEEL LIKE A MATH TEST?

The Pyramid Is Great

The Instructions Are Not

Somewhere between:
  • “1.2–1.6 grams per kilogram of body weight”
    and
  • “optimize metabolic signaling across meals”
…I completely forgot why I walked into the kitchen.

Because let’s be honest:
👉 No one is doing protein algebra at 5:17 pm.
Not parents.
Not caregivers.
Not women who already used up their brainpower by noon.

When food advice requires a calculator, it stops being helpful and starts being… noise.

Real Life Translation (No Math. Promise.)

Here’s the version of the pyramid that actually works:
Eat protein every time you eat.
Add some vegetables.
Don’t have carbs by themselves like unsupervised toddlers.
That’s it.
That’s the whole thing.

 If You Need a Visual (Because We’re Human)

Picture your plate like this:

Simple rules:

  • actually change how people eat
And spoiler alert:
Consistency beats perfection every single time.

I love a good concept.
I just don’t want my dinner to require a spreadsheet.

You’re not broken.
It just needs subtitles.
