Stress and autoimmune diseases

Jacque's Testimonial:
When I was first diagnosed with Hashimoto's (autoimmune attack on my thyroid) the doctors dismissed my suggestion that it had manifested in me because of years of chronic stress as an entrepreneur in a very stressful business as well being as a single mom (often working 80-hour weeks)!  They looked at me like I was just some crazy woman who didn't know what she was talking about.   Twenty years later, I find article after article being written by well-educated people in the medical field saying just that - STRESS can and does cause autoimmune diseases.  Thank you very much!

Start creating some new, healthy habits to conquer the negative effects of Stress on your health.  Eat a balanced diet of whole foods - not junk foods.  Drink lots of good clean water.  I like to use a water filter and carry my own water with me in a stainless steel water bottle instead of drinking from plastic water bottles.  (I also add essential oils that have been approved for internal use to my water to make it taste yummy, which helps me drink more water!)  Limit your caffeine and sugar intake.  These things will not only help your body handle stress better, they will also be good for establishing habits that create better wellness!

Stress and heart disease

The American Institute of Stress states, " Coronary heart disease is also much more common in individuals subjected to chronic stress and recent research has focused on how to identify and prevent this growing problem, particularly with respect to job stress."

There are many things we can and should do daily to effectively manage and offset the damaging effects of chronic stress - things like Meditation, Prayer, Mindfulness, Gratitude - as well as eliminating environmental stresses that we have control over.   (We're talking products you use every day to clean your house, personal care products, scented candles, laundry scented products, and more...)

Want to know what I do that is good for my heart and my stress levels?  I love to walk and/or take hikes.  Getting out in nature is very therapeutic, and moderate exercise is better than going to a gym and going crazy - movement is good; but you don't have to exercise so hard that you raise your cortisol levels - no way!

Prevention is Our Most Effective Tool
When it comes to managing the damaging effects of stress, it's all about choices!  The conscious lifestyle and daily practices we choose can help our bodies heal themselves; and we can live life on our terms with incredible energy, strong immune systems and vital health - we don't have to be victims of STRESS.   Some of our favorite things to incorporate daily are: quiet time for prayer and meditation, essential oils, (Know your source for essential oils - they are not all created equal), antioxidants, as well as moderate exercise.

Once you choose to make these things a priority, your vitality can shift dramatically.
